Billing & Insurance

Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network is a participating provider with most insurance, managed care and workers' compensation plans.

We invoice insurance companies directly whenever possible. Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment. Most insurance plans require a co-pay for services and this is collected at each appointment. For programs and fees that are not part of an insurance benefit, Hartford Hospital may be paid directly. Checks (payable to Backus Hospital, Hartford Hospital, Hospital of Central Connecticut or Windham Hospital), or debit and credit cards are accepted for co-pays and non-insurance programs. Please check with your billing representative about your balance or payment arrangements.

You can view your electronic medical record using MyChartPLUS and you can pay your bill online using pay.hartfordhealthcare.org.

Please keep us informed of any address, phone, employment or insurance changes so we can update our files.

We participate in most insurance & managed care plans in Connecticut to make using our facilities and services as convenient as possible.

Participation may vary by product and is subject to change. Access to Hartford Healthcare Corporation may require an authorization or referral by your primary care physician or your managed care plan.

Keep informed on the health insurance market and its changes.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) created guidelines for a new kind of marketplace for health insurance.

  • Think of an exchange as an online marketplace. It’s a website where shoppers can research all their options and then buy health insurance.
  • The Affordable Care Act is expected to help increase access to health care. Health insurance exchanges will be an important part of that.
  • Depending on the type of insurance coverage you wish to purchase and your total household income, you may be eligible for reduced rates on the premiums you pay.

What's Covered?

Insurances have different plans and benefits. We recommend that you contact your insurance company for guidance regarding co-pays and deductibles for "outpatient hospital services" as you are ultimately responsible for payment. There is usually a toll free number on the insurance identification card for "Member Services" where you can call and get assistance. For those in the workforce, questions can also be directed to the employer's Human Resources or Personnel departments.
